Scotch fillet steak

Tonight, I cooked a scotch fillet steak I bought from Woolworths yesterday.

When I got it home, I unwrapped it and put it on a rack and into the refrigerator to dry the surface.

Ingredients

  • Scotch fillet steak.
  • Salt
  • Cheese — cheddar — grated.

Equipment

  • Frypan

Instructions

  1. Unwrap the steak and put it onto a rack and into the refrigerator overnight.
  2. Heat a frypan.
  3. Cook the steak in the frypan, flipping the meat every 30 seconds.
  4. When the steak is ready, remove it from the pan and rest for 5 minutes.
  5. While the steak rests, add a little grated English vintage cheddar cheese to the hot frypan and allow it to melt. When it cools, it forms a firm, savoury cheese chip, which can be served with the steak.
  6. Slice the steak and reveal a medium-rare doneness.
  7. Season the steak with flaky salt.
