Lamb chops

Lamb chops

Normally, I buy a tray of six lamb loin chops from the supermarket. The meat quality can be a bit hit and miss. There have been instances of fantastic flavour and then there have been some bland chops.

These chops were purchased from a butcher. The cost was only an extra dollar per kilogram compared with the supermarket.

These chops tasted great. Full of flavour and the meat was tender.

I cooked them in the oven at 160 °C for 25 minutes. The meat was tender and juicy.

I find there to be a big difference in some meats from the butcher. Sometimes meat from a supermarket can be a bit wet and I think that means that they’re heavier but the flavour is lacking.

I’m conscious that not everyone can afford to buy meat from a butcher. While I can afford to do it, I’ll indulge myself from time to time.
