Footy food — scotch fillet steak

Tonight is game three in this year’s Rugby League State of Origin series. It’s the decider after Queensland won the first game and New South Wales won the second game.

The game is being played at Lang Park.

I’m hoping for a Queensland XXXX Maroons victory.

To prepare for watching the game, I ate a steak.

Ingredients

  • Scotch fillet steak
  • Salt
  • Butter

Equipment

  • Frypan

Instructions

  1. Dry brine the steak overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Heat the frypan.
  3. Cook the steak flipping it over every 30 seconds until it is done.
  4. I like my steak cooked medium rare.
  5. Rest the steak in an aluminium foil pocket.
  6. Slice with a sharp knife.
  7. Season with flaky salt.
  8. Serve with butter and enjoy.
