I’ve revived Yummy Lummy. Last year, I put it into hibernation because the cost of self-hosting a blog wasn’t worth the money. I’ve now migrated the blog to WordPress.com, which is cheaper and easier to manage.
I’m unsure how to continue writing on Random Yummy and Yummy Lummy.
The advantage to Random Yummy is that Meta has not banned it.
Unfortunately, Yummy Lummy breached Meta’s community standards and has been banned on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, and Threads.
I don’t know what I did to breach the community standards that Meta established. At the time (about five years ago), I had people trolling my comments on the Yummy Lummy Facebook page, so it could also be the trolls who reported Yummy Lummy for posts they deemed offensive. The ban means I cannot post any URLs from Yummy Lummy on any Meta platform.
Shortly after I started blogging in 2010, a workmate suggested the name Yummy Lummy, and I’ve been attached to it ever since. My fondness for the name Yummy Lummy is double-barrelled. As a boy in primary school, one of my nicknames was “Lummy.” The addition of “Yummy” reflects how relevant food has been to my existence. As I contemplate and meditate on Matthew 6:11, I recall how this verse brought comfort and joy. Initially, in a carnal sense, I saw food in my mind, and then I experienced peace as I meditated on the “Bread of Life.”
For now, both blogs will remain.
