Oven-baked pork sausages, cauliflower, peas, and cherry tomatoes

ManFlu has hit me hard. I stayed home and worked from home while I produced and expelled copious amounts of mucus from my nose and mouth as I sneezed, coughed and cleared my nasal passages of virus-laden mucus. I’ve consumed analgesics, oral decongestants, intranasal decongestants, and sugar in the form of chocolate. I couldn’t be […]

  • Leftover lamb, lettuce, blue cheese, and dates

Leftover lamb, lettuce, blue cheese, and dates

On Saturday and Sunday I cooked quite a lot of mammalian meat in the form a bone in rib steak and a rolled lamb shoulder. The great thing about weekend cooking is the leftover meat which can be used cold from the refrigerator as a source of protein for lunch. If you’re eschewing excessive carbohydrates […]

  • Pan-fried salmon, chives, and mushrooms with frozen black beans, capsicum, and corn

Pan-fried salmon, chives, and mushrooms with frozen black beans, capsicum, and corn

A cool change hit Canberra overnight. Yesterday peaked at 43 °C (109 °F) and this morning when I went for a walk, apart from the smoke haze of nearby bushfires, the air was cool. A hot lunch felt in order for me. I had a piece of salmon in the refrigerator and some mushrooms. Pan-fried salmon, chives, […]

    Lunch at Cafe Diversity

I took my parents and one of my daughters to Cafe Diversity for lunch today. My parents and daughters have been here before and told me it was very good. I tried reserving a table for today on New Year’s Eve by leaving a message but no one got back to me. I called again […]

    Wagyu sirloin and sea scallops

Tempest Seafood Restaurant and Teppanyaki Grill It’s New Year’s Eve and I took my parents and Ms18 to Tempest Seafood Restaurant and Teppanyaki Grill in Scarborough for lunch. Chicken thigh schnitzel, steamed red cabbage, and cherry tomatoes

I bought a chicken thigh schnitzel from Belconnen Chicken earlier this morning. I pan-fried it in garlic butter and then tossed in some sliced red cabbage and cherry tomatoes, put the lid on to effectively steam the vegetables.

  • Roast chicken and frozen vegetables

    Roast chicken and frozen vegetables

I had a piece of dry brined chicken thigh in the refrigerator and some frozen vegetables I needed to finish off.

  • Chicken schnitty

    Chicken schnitty

Chicken thigh schnitzel with pickle salad I know I shouldn’t do this after eating so much food yesterday. However, I was in Westfield Belconnen earlier and saw that Belconnen Chicken was open for business. Belconnen Chicken sells chicken thigh schnitzel rather than the traditional chicken breast schnitzel. People who know me, know that I’m a […]
